Barely had the crocks from the Former Players Lunch finished off their cheese & biscuits and dragged themselves outside to watch the current day contemporaries in maroon & gold than the scoreboard was ticking over like the Chairman's bar tab.
By 30 minutes in, the result was as good as sealed with the home team 27 points to the good.
A hat trick for Ben Wheale, who had a rumbustious game at the back of the scrum . Tries from Jack Nadin, James Cathcart and Matt Mason. Plus a brace apiece for Neil Baggett and Matt Bleasdale, along with six successful conversions from the boot of Jack Stanley completed a slightly one sided affair.
Fair play to Blackpool who had a few chances and their big forwards caused some trouble, especially the big No8 who was always a threat ball in hand. So thanks for your time in the Clubhouse and look forward to our visit to the seaside at the end of January.
Clitheroe march on at the top of the table; but know the hard work is staying there. Some testing games ahead before the Christmas break starting this week away at Broughton RFC.
