Valley Vixens 21 Oldham Ladies 48

The Vixens kicked off their first home game of the season with a hard-fought battle against Oldham Ladies, putting in a performance full of determination, grit and plenty of positives despite the 21–48 final score.

Clitheroe came out fighting and spent large periods of the game pushing deep into Oldham territory. The Vixens worked hard to keep the pressure on, but a few unlucky interceptions gave Oldham opportunities to break away and add points to the board.

One thing that never disappeared was the Vixens' determination. 💪

From the first whistle right through to the final minute, the team kept pushing. Hard tackles were met head-on, players picked themselves straight back up, and even as the game wore on, there was absolutely no giving up.

A huge shoutout has to go to the forwards, who put everything into what felt like scrum after scrum throughout the match. They dug deep, worked together and battled for every bit of ground. ❤️

It was also a special day for the club as the Vixens' brand-new kit took to the pitch for the very first time! 🦊✨

And finally, a massive thank you to everyone who came down to support both teams. It was fantastic to see so many spectators on the sidelines cheering the players on and creating a brilliant atmosphere for our first home game of the season.

The scoreboard might say 21–48, but there was plenty in that performance for the Vixens to be proud of.

Heads held high. Season underway. Onto the next one. 🦊🏉❤️🖤

COME ON YOU VIXENS!
