The 1sts overpowered and underpowered Leigh outfit who proved disappointing opposition . Especially as they had beaten Clitheroe only at the end of January on their own paddock.
An easy victory was marred by hooker/prop Richard Edmondson sustaining a broken arm in a tackle, effectively ending his season. Fortunately injuries such as this are quite rare but that is of no consequence to the popular long serving player in question.
The 2's travelled to Aspull to play their 2's and although seeming on paper a bit understrength, perhaps underestimated themselves and were ahead by the interval. Only the fact that Aspull 1sts had no game and were able to bolster their team at the crucial moment allowed them to ease away. A great cameo for new the half back combo of Mitch Jones and Matt Bleasedale along with strong running from Gary Pickup plus a welcome return after an appendix op to Taffy Haynes.
Today [Sunday] the U13's played out an entertaining game in the early spring sunshine. North Ribblesdale, the visitors, were a few lads short so such are the increaced numbers at Clitheroe, they were able to lend them some players. Constant rotation meant that everyone had plenty of game time.
