The largely uneventful and fairly thinly attended 2015 AGM last night trundled along in its usual humdrum fashion, that is until it came to the Election of officers for the coming year.
It was then when the hitherto male dominated closeted ranks of the committee were brought kicking and screaming into the 21st Century by the very fact that a women was proposed for office. Gasps of surprise from the floor! Even better she was seconded and accepted! Chauvinistic feathers ruffled?? Will the advent of the fairer sex into the darkened halls of the committee rooms improve behavior??.....well lets hope so on all counts.
Joking aside, it is fantastic to welcome Sarah Reid [better looking and more intelligent partner of fatboy back/front row Will Dickenson] to the committee to head up the new look Social Committee, with the backing of some more of the ladies this should guarantee some cracking social events to look forward to.
Also to keep it in the family(sort of) Nat Dickenson, joins Ben Graves and Steve Dowson as an Elected Member.
