BREAKING NEWS...........................................................

Yes, you read it correctly! Clitheroe's very own token Scottish person actually bought a round of drinks. The man in question is of course Paisley born, thrifty, pound shop regular Russ Shiels.

Whilst most readers who know our friendly Scotsman, will by now be picking themselves up off the floor and saying 'I don't beleeeeeve it', we can reveal that the aforementioned act was indeed witnessed by at least four other people.
The dark deed happened on the way back from Preston Grasshoppers, where enigmatic Russ had slotted a superb touchline conversion [right in front of new lady friend - coincidence?] and was probably still a bit light headed.
After waving a £20 note at the bar some one asked if he was 'getting them in?' Imagine everyones surprise when - "aye, nay problem" was the reply.
Minutes later Russ was seen in a dark corner clutching his fore head muttering, " Heavens, it's like loosing an old friend, I'll never see his like again" .
Russ later went quite pale, and had to sit down in a darkend room, to collect his thoughts.

So what next for our credit crunch busting hero? Will he ever been seen again? Or is it the start of of a new lifestyle image for 'spend, spend, spend' Russell.
