Busy Weekend on and off the Pitch

Sunday, 21 April 2013By Roger Holmes

Clitheroe 1st XV played their final game of the season against Old Bedians, coming up just short 7-15 against.

The 2's traveled to a very strong Bolton side and came a spirited but distant second.

The 35th Annual Dinner followed in the Clubhouse.
Another rousing success it was too.
A splendid three course meal was followed by the usual speeches and presentations.
After the introductory address from President Colin Silcock, the two Captains took the floor.
Outgoing 2nd XV Skipper Bob Wilkinson led the audience through the season and presented the awards for his team;

2nd XV Most Improved Player: Mark Harrison
2nd XV Players Player: Chris Harper

then the 1st XV Skipper Nathan Peel stood up to much ribaldry, but delivered an almost word perfect address and toasted the Club (CURFC!!)
The awards were then presented;
1st XV Most Improved Player: Greg Birch
1st XV Players Player; Alex Hough

Then Clubman of the Year was awarded to Aarron Shread on account of his sterling work for the Club over the past year.

An excellent evening carried on well into the night/morning and was one to remember.

Bob's photos may surface but after letting Beardy Brian loose with his camera some editing may be in order!
