Clitheroe RUFC to host Touch Rugby competition during July
Touch Rugby Competition- get registered NOW!
Sunday, 26 June 2011By Bob Wilkinson
In an effort to provide a great way to keep fit over the summer period, Clitheroe have planned a mixed summer touch rugby competition that will run on Thursday evenings between 7pm and 9pm throughout July. The Lancashire Rugby Football Union are backing the club to promote the event by providing all the kit required and all that's needed now is some willing entrants, aged 16 and over. Each year more than 15,000 adults of all ages and abilities play touch rugby in men’s, women’s and mixed games all around the UK. It’s non-contact, there are no scrums, no line-outs, no rucks and no mauls. Remember that you really don't have to have played rugby of any kind before so if you can run a bit and catch a bit then you can play touch rugby and if you want to get a bit fitter and make new friends then it's perfect for a summer's evening.
So, if you're interested in coming along on your own or, even better, with some friends to the first session on Thursday 7th July then please contact the event admin team ASAP by calling or texting on 07534 171135 or email to touchrugby@clitheroerugby.com. Alternatively you can find out more by visiting the rugby club website at www.clitheroerugby.com.
