Cup ..or Bowl Fever..hits Littlemoor

Second round tie for 1sts. Vital game for 2's: both at home.

Friday, 3 February 2017By Roger Holmes

Weather permitting, the 1sts are in Cup action this Saturday

Our visitors, Capenhurst RFC from near Ellesmere Port, are making their first ever visit to Littlemoor this being the first time the two clubs have crossed swords.

Our opponents are a small one team club formed in 1952 and are on the back of a tremendous 2015/16 season. In which they did the double: promotion out of Div 4S and winning the Raging Bull Shield. Beating Carnforth 35-24 in the final at Rochdale.
This season is going well also for them, with them lying in 3rd spot in 3S.
(Interesting factoid for stattos is the fact they've drawn their last two games by the same score 22-22)
Their cup run this time has been easy as their two opponents have conceded both times.
Kick of is 2:15pm and our referee, who has been following us about this season, is Mr Alasdair Boyle, from the Manchester Society.

Meanwhile the 2nds entertain Leigh 3rds in a pivotal game for both teams. With Leigh in 8th place and Clitheroe in 10th , a win for either would enhance their survival chances.
This game was postponed from before Christmas.
Kick off again is 2:15pm and our referee for this game is Mr Simon Vale, another familiar face for Clitheroe.

We give a warm welcome to all our visitors this Saturday. And hope for two good tough games and a few pints watching England beat the Froggies.
