In what are both teams' penultimate league fixtures, this Saturday we sign off from Littlemoor for the 2015-16 season with another double header.
The 1sts host Oldham 2's who are second in the table with Clitheroe one behind, but crucially a game in hand.
Clitheroe have had mixed fortunes against Oldham this term. On the opening day of the season they threw away a comfortable lead to go down by one point 32-31. But they fared better in the Cup at Littlemoor in February, comfortably winning 58-5. However Clitheroe will not underestimate the task in hand, with 3 or 4 teams tussling for the promotion spots it could all go down to the wire.
The 2's entertain Preston GH 5ths who are out of the running for the top positions. However PGH 6ths are still in the hunt lying in third place three points behind Clitheroe.
The 2's dispatched PGH 5ths back in September 0-48 at Lightfoot Green. But you feel to some extent it may depend on how resources are shuffled at Preston and which team turn up to Clitheroe.
Clitheroe will want to bounce back after their reverse on the road last week, in front of their own fans.
After a fantastic season...so far.....both teams are unbeaten at home so its going to be a massive effort from all the players to preserve that record.
Of course it is St Georges Day this Saturday. So to coincide with our final home game we cordially invite all ex players, wives and girlfriends, lady players, injured players etc etc to join us before the games 1pm onwards for a light lunch and drinkies. A civilised afternoon in store. In the Clubhouse at least!
Both Games KO at 3pm
