Both teams are in knock-out competitions this Saturday. Rather dissapointingly, in my view, both teams are facing regular league opponents, when often the 'Cup' was an opportunity to explore new lands, but that is the luck of the draw!
The 1sts travel to Newton-le-Willows RFC in the Alan Stone Lancashire Bowl.
Earlier in the season Clitheroe came second best to Newton who ran out 24-9 winners in an entertaining game. Undaunted by that and their patchy form of late, Ollie Mac's troops are looking forward to the trip, away from the pressure of league fixtures, and having a decent run on Newton's excellent pitch.
Meanwhile the 2's are hosting Thornton Cleveleys at Littlemoor in the 1st Round of the Raging Bull Plate.
Again they were a distant second in the league encounter but an encouraging run recent form gives them grounds for a competitive game.
Kick off at 2.15 and our most welcome Referee from the Manchester Soc. is Mr. Michael Hayward.
All visitors are welcome..Tatt's bar will be open for a pint [or 3] lovely Wainwrights mmmmmm
