In probably the worst opening weekends weather conditions for many a year saw Clitheroe's XV's endure mixed fortunes.
The 1sts did well to come back from a two try early deficit to run out fairly comfortable winners 17-32 at Burnley. A satisfactory debut for James Cathcart plus the return to 1st XV colours for Nathan Peel, Stu Railton and Ross Chamberlain were tempered by injuries to Jamesd Haynes and James Dickinson.
The 2nds at Littlemoor were less fortunate going down 0-20 to a vastly experianced Sedgley Park outfit. Promising debuts from Harry Bailey and Mike Floyd dispelled the gloom and bodes well for the future
