John Procter has been endorsed by the committee as 2nd XV Skipper for this season. He takes over from Simon Rawstron who enjoyed two terms as leader of the Cavaliers.
John, aka Harry or Pundy, is a club stalwart of many, many years standing. He is reknowned for his unstinting and uncomplaining outlook on life in the front row - where he is equally adept at both tight and loose head.
Harry is made of the 'right stuff', never seemingly injured and unlikely to talk the ref to death during the game.
Delving into the records we find no evidence of his true age, but I believe there are some pretty accurate carbon dating methods about now.
Opposition Captains [especially backs] will be advised to be wary of the pre match handshake - especially any with piano playing ambitions.
Well done and congratulations Pund, and here's to a sucessfull season at the helm.
