PRESIDENTS DAY - ROUND UP

Sun shines on Littlemoor

Sunday, 10 May 2015By Roger Holmes

2015 Presidents Day went off in fine style at Littlemoor on Saturday.

The incessant downpours just about abated in time and some heroic work from Phil Isherwood and Bob Wilkinson in preparing the pitch paid dividends.

The senior game was preceded by an inter-club junior game which the lads gave an excellent account of themselves and the watching 1st & 2nd XV'ers were mightily impressed by the skills and attitude on show. Good work.!

In the senior game that followed the two teams fought it out hammer and tongs as usual. A well balanced game saw thw Clitheroe side initially pull away before the Presidents XV came storming back and in the end only a handful of points could separate the teams. As it should be.

Both games were splendidly refereed by Bob 'unbiased' Wilkinson. Thanks Robert.

Thanks and well done to all the players, especially the one who traveled to join us for the day.

The watching spectators were well lubricated by Dave Tat's outside bar. Well done Dave!

In the clubhouse the traditional post match trophies were awarded.

Presidents Man of the Match ; Dan Smith
Clitheroe Man of the Match; James Haynes

And Nathan Peel in his final duties as Club Captain collected the winners trophy on behalf of his team.
