The Presidents Match kicks off this Saturday at 3pm. If you are intending to play please let someone know/fill in the website availability/send a carrier pigeon or telegram.!
Meet at 2pm for final selection.
We play for the Nick Hopwood memorial Trophy and also the Bob Howarth Man of the Match Cup.
Nick Hopwood was our first President and Bob Howarth was Chairman when tragically both passed away within weeks of each other in 1983.
Older members will remember them both as big characters and family men, both held the interests of Clitheroe RUFC in the highest esteem.
The two trophies help us remember them & continue the important link with our past in some small way, while we look forward to next season with optimism.
Pictured is a CRUFC squad from about 1982, before the end of season game that has evolved into the Presidents Day as we now know it
Nick Hopwood is in the overcoat and hat and Bob Howarth is the bearded gentleman to his right,
Yes that is Tatt in the front row aged ......?
