Littlemoor looked at its finest on Saturday as the Presidents Day got underway.
A curtain raiser match with the U16's facing Burnley U16's certainly whetted the appitite. as both sets of lads played some high tempo, skillful rugby, that was appreciated by watching crowd.
Look out chaps, these lads will looking for berths in the senior teams in a couple of seasons!
Burnley just shaded it in the final shake down, but credit to both teams, and thanks for Burnley for coming along for the game.
The President's XV v the Chairman's XV kicked of afterwards, and a high scoring game it was. 53-44 to the Chairmans team in the end but it could have gone either way. Especially after a disastrous start for the Presidents team, loosing prop Aaron Shread to concussion after only a few minutes.
An open end to end game ensued, and although no quarter was given, the right rugby spirit was maintained through out. Expertly refereed by, Ulster's finest, Sandy Woods sporting a rather fetching pink shirt.
The two stand out players on each side were well deseving of the Man of the Match awards.
Chris Massey, for the Presidents XV showed a touch of class in taking his tries, and Darren Eagle, the silent assassin, showed all of his support play skills in being nominated for the Chairmans XV.
Special mention for those who travel from far and wide to play; Arron Atkinson from Grenoble,France. Russ Shiels from bonney Scotland, Gareth Smith from over the border in Wales, not forgetting Sion Williams from over the border in Yorkshire!
Plus all the other lads who made the effort to attend that made the day so special.
Bob has of photos on his camera, unfortunately KK was the happy snapper. So like the dinner pics, some editing may be required. You know what I mean.
