The 1st XV had a hard fought win over Marple on Saturday at Silcock Park. A 22[or24?]-5 , four try to one win seems comfortable enough on paper, but with a huge penalty count against them and many unforced errors, they had to dig deep for the victory.
You could say winning but not playing to their best, was a good sign, but they will need to up the ante for the run in towards the end of the regular season.
Tries from Will Tattersall, Josh Burns, Sam Thornber and Pete 'Wombat' Mitchell. Only a nasty looking knee injury to co-captain Nathon Burns marred the day.
