A gripping game at Ashton saw the top two teams in Counties ADM Div 4 meet up for the second time this season.
Ashton shaded the home game back in November by a single point, here Clitheroe got thier revenge in another typically close encounter.
Clitheroe were ahead throughout, but never comfortably. 0-14 up after 25 mins, from tries courtesy of back rowers Joe Aspin and Ben Wheale, but Ashton came back to 11-14 on the hour mark.
But the maroons seemed to finish the stronger and a try from out-half Jack Stanley after 70 mins gave the visitors some breathing space to see out the game.
A full blooded encounter in which both teams played their part.
Thanks to Ashton for their hospitality and to the Clitheroe travelling support.
