On Saturday it is the 2nd XV - the Cavaliers - who take centre stage at Littlemoor.
This week it is Bolton 4ths who are the visitors. In the away fixture back on Bonfire Night the 2's were soundly defeated 31-8 by a very strong Bolton Squad, but back on their own paddock, Bobby Wilkinson's troops will be looking for a better performance. With the team unlucky to miss out last week but in decent overall nick, a positive result is both wanted and expected.
Kick off is at 3pm and our referee is Mr. Raymond Evans from the Manchester Soc.
All are welcome as usual in the Clubhouse, where the 6 Nations games are on and don't forget your Race Night dosh, Andy Moorby will be pestering you buy the last remaining horses and tickets.
Meanwhile the 1st XV travel up the M6 to the Kellet Road Staduim home of Carnforth RFC - a fixture that goes way back to when Ralph Rigby had a full head of hair. ie: quite a long time.
Down at Littlemoor the Railwaymen inflicted a heavy-ish defeat on Clitheroe running out 26-41 to the good, and coupled with a raft of injuries and finishing with uncontested scrums it was not a good day for the maroons.
But Ollie Mac is in a positive frame of mind and allied with some improved performances of late, helped by some intuitive coaching from Steve Llewellyn, expects better things for the trip North.
We look forward to renewing acquaintances in the Railway Club after the battle on the pitch.
