This week the 1st XV host Preston Grasshoppers 4's at Littlemoor.
The last time PGH 4's visited Clitheroe all the way back in October 2010 the home team won 22-3 with tries from Nathan Peel (2) and Ralph Rigby and two conversions and a penalty from Peel.
But that was a long time ago and both sides have moved on. Hoppers are 11th in the table but have probably played some of the tougher sides in this division. They had a morale boosting win over Chorley last week.
Games against Hoppers are always tough and this will be no exception. It is still early days in a long season so, for Clitheroe, its just take things on a match by match basis.
Kick off is at 3pm and the pitch is firm for an open game.
Meanwhile the 2's make the long trip to Barrow in Furness to visit Hawcoat Park 2's. The 2's last made the trip North in March 2010 and came unstuck that day, probably because Brian Wood and your correspondent were playing that day.
It should be even stevens up there for the 2's and they take a handy looking squad to the nicely appointed Hawcoat Sports Club.
Sunday sees the U16s at Colne & Nelson. Kick off 11 am (I think) . If you can get over to support the lads you'll get to watch some burgeoning talent playing an exiting brand of rugby.
