This Saturday we have the final senior fixture of 2023 when we welcome Wigan RUFC to Silcock Park.
[NOTE: ko 2pm]
It should be a smashing way of rounding off the year and a cracking fixture to anticipate. Wigan are going great guns in Counties Div 3 currently in second place behind Thornton - the only team to lower their colours this season - so far.
All to play for then. Highlights from DoR ,Dave 'Oddjob' Watsons selection are; the resurfacing of Oscar Duck, after a year hammering lumps of metal in New Zealand, joining his ex Colts captain Joe Wilkinson in the back row. Pete 'Wombat' Mitchell makes a rare but welcome start at hooker and Matty Mason moves out to the wing with James Cathcart taking the number 15 jersey.
An interesting looking bench with Matt Bleasdale [sure of vocal support from the touchline!], the hirsute Jamie Taylor and also the welcome return of Chris Stewart to the ranks..
Our referee is Mr Richard Todd from the Manchester Society. [not the one of Dambusters film fame]. Welcome Sir!
The usual Christmas shenanigans - Christmas jumpers , mulled wine, Santa is popping in about 4ish (only if you've been good this year) and our very own Rev. Sam Cheeseman is leading the carol singing.
The visitors are making an afternoon of it with a bus load of support so we welcome everyone and all to Silcock Park and hope everyone has a cracking day.
