This Weekends Preview

Both teams on the road

Friday, 24 February 2012By Roger Holmes

This Saturday both teams travel; one North and one South.

The 1st XV travel to Warrington to play Eagle, whilst the 2's go up the M6 to play a mixed Garstang XV in a friendly.

Clitheroe have not played Eagle as yet this season as the home fixture has been repeatedly postponed.
So the first match is the scheduled game down at Great Sankey. The hosts are always very strong at home and accordingly have won their last two games both at home; beating both Crosby and Ashton, leaving them in comfortable mid table position.
With drier weather and hopefully ground conditions, Clitheroe will look to build on their recent improvement in form and put on a good show in what is likely to be a serious examination.

The 2nds travel up to Garstang, after the scheduled Blackburn fixture has been moved for some reason.
Garstang 3's dropped out of 5N earlier in the season, but have sportingly accepted the offer of a game and propose to put out a mixed 2/3's XV. With no league points on offer it will be good to have 'no pressure' game where both sides can just throw the ball about and enjoy their rugby in the right spirit.

The Littlemoor Clubhouse will be open for England V Wales at 4pm
