Weekend Preview

Rugby Returns to Littlemoor.....fingers crossed

Friday, 1 January 2016By Roger Holmes

This weekend there is , weather permitting, a full fixture schedule for Clitheroe teams.
All the games are rescheduled from last year - and in some cases postponed more than once.

The 1st XV travel to play Ormskirk 3's. Having already played out a 15-15 draw with Ormskirk 2's back in sunny September, and the 3's down in the relegation zone of 3N, it will be interesting in the make up of the opposition. Especially as the 'kirk 2's are the visitors to Littlemoor next week.!
Having said that Clitheroe should be confident against any team in this league if they play up to the standards they have set themselves. A dip in concentration , focus and preparation, however , can be damaging. It should be a humdinger.

The 2's host Aspull 2 who are one place below them in the league.
Skipper Dave Watson's men are unbeaten this season and on their own paddock should put on a good show. Aspull are strong challengers though as they have also won all but one of their games with one draw. A 'toughie', but 'do-able' for the lads.

Both games ko at 2:15pm. Support is welcome and of course a warm welcome awaits friends and guests in the Clubhouse.

On Sunday two of our junior sides have rearranged games also.

The U13's host Vale of Lune whist the U15's host Heaton Moor.

Lancaster based Vale are one of the bigger Clubs in the area running several senior and junior teams and are very welcome to Clitheroe. The U13's have an excellent squad who have been playing some exciting rugby this term and the game will be keenly contested.

Heaton Moor travelling from the southern end of Manchester are an old established club with a long tradition of rugby union. Again they are very welcome to Littlemoor to play our U15's.
The 15's play an exciting brand of rugby and are good value for spectators. The stars of the future are in the making!

Both matches ko at 11am.- meet at 10.15am [weather permitting -stay tuned for any last minute changes]
