Weekend Preview 24th Sept

1st XV travel down the M6, *** 2nd XV Match OFF***

Thursday, 22 September 2011By Roger Holmes

After their last gasp reverse last Saturday Clitheroe 1sts will travel to Newton-le-Willows with some confidence.
Newton have regrouped after a torrid time of it last season and look like a strong outfit on their home paddock as they showed comfortably seeing off Carnforth two weeks ago.
Skipper Ollie MacEntyre welcomes back some of the holidaying lads but at the same time wishes Chris Waddy bon voyage on his NZ World Cup trip [lucky devil]

At Littlemoor, Bob's Cavaliers will be in high spirits after an excellent performance last Saturday at Preston.
Garstang 3's are the visitors, although they seem to be suffering a players drought, they'll be more than welcome at Clitheroe however many troops they can muster.

*****we have now learned that Garstang 3's will not be coming to us tomorrow and will seemingly be dropping out of 5N due to a shortage of players - no worries the bar is open and Captain Bob & the Coach are planning a light session on the pitch followed by a heavy session in the bar, where the Skipper has promised to buy all players who turn up a pint...I'm sure that's what I heard him say...!***

Kick off is at 3pm and our scheduled referee is Mr. Raymond Evans from the Manchester Soc.

****The Club is open Saturday morning for the England V Romania game. Mine host Dave Tatt welcomes all early birds, late finishers, waifs and strays, lost souls, ne'er do well's and prospective alcoholics to the Club for the big screen experience.******
